Religious Education Program for Children and Youth
The
Religious Education Program is designed to encourage our children to become
religious searchers within the framework of a loving and supportive community.
The goal is to guide them toward a faith that gives meaning and perspective
to their lives and that carries with it a deep concern for all of creation.
For children through grade 8, classes are held on Sunday mornings at 9:15
and 11:00 am. In addition, for those in grades 7 and 8, the Junior Youth
Group meets the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 5:30 to 7:00
pm.
For
those in grades 9 through 12, the Senior Youth Group meets on Sunday evenings
from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
First Parish strives to assure that all who come into our community have
the opportunity to truly participate in the life of the parish. For those
with a disability, fully belonging to the church may require a little more
support and assistance. The goal of the Belonging
is a Religious Experience (BRE) committee is to provide this assistance
to children with a disability and their families, so that they may fully
participate in the life of the church and feel that they truly belong.
