The UnCommon Coffeehouse
Celebrates it's 25th Anniversary!

The Uncommon Coffeehouse is now officially venerable. Any acoustic music venue that can celebrate its 25th anniversary, such as the Uncommon, can certainly lay claim to that title. As one of the leading coffeehouses in the metro Boston area, the Uncommon has been the host for hundreds of top folk, big band, and world acts since its beginnings in the mid-80s. We have welcomed such greats as Tom Rush, Cheryl Wheeler, Tom Paxton, and Garnet Rogers to our stage, sometimes more than once.At the same time, the Uncommon recognizes its responsibility to nurture up and coming artists, and has actively pursued engaging exciting opening acts, such as Tracy O’Connell andLiz Moore.

Our next concert of the 2009-2010 season will be held on Friday, March 22nd, 2010 when the UnCommon Coffeehouse will welcome Karen Savoca presenting her melodic songs that probe the mysteries of heart and soul. Our opening act will be Dan Emino. Click here to read more about Karen Savoca and Dan Emino.

As a volunteer-based organization, the Uncommon has been extremely fortunate in having a dedicated corps of music-lovers who happily show up concert after concert, year after year, and in some cases, decade after decade. Please plan on joining them and your fellow music fans at some of our events in this, our anniversary year, and help celebrate the joy of live music here in Framingham. Interested in volunteering at the UnCommon Coffeehouse? Send us an email we'll let you know how you can help out.

We have recently expanded our list of musicians who have performed at the UnCommon Coffeehouse over the past 25 years. Thank you to Mark, one of our former volunteers, who was able to fill in the years between 1989 through 1997 for us. All of our concerts are held at First Parish in Framingham, located just off of Route 9 west in Framingham, Massachusetts. We offer an intimate setting, where you can get an up close experience with the music and the artists themselves.

All proceeds from the UnCommon concerts go to support the Coffeehouse and its performers. If you are interested in becoming involved with our program as a volunteer, please contact us at info@uncommoncoffeehouse.org.
